Behind the bean – Last week I visited my roasters to touch base with the team behind the scenes who roast my unique coffee blends, something I like to do on a regular basis. I had a walk round the factory & cupped (A way of analysing coffees flavours.) some of my main coffee blends with Sean & Becky (The professional coffee tasters at the roastery) together we made a few tweaks to my blends to make sure my coffees taste profiles have stayed the same. As coffee is a fruit it changes with the seasons, the climates , the soils & availability over time & this changes the flavour profile. It is important that I keep tasting my blends to make sure it tastes the same over time (detail of blends will follow).
Also last week I did a Christmas coffee stall at a private house in Bridgnorth giving the general public the opportunity to buy my retail packs of Danielle’s Coffee to use at home or give as a gift. Selling direct to the public is something I only do occasionally around Christmas as selling to trade is what Danielle’s Coffee does. It was really nice to chat about my products & what I do. It always gives me a buzz to tell people what I know about coffee & my story behind the profession.
A decision was made this week, after much consideration I have decided to work with Teapigs teabags next year – I love the brand, & the taste of the loose leaf tea through the temple, I think it will complement Danielle’s Coffee nicely. I have therefore been chatting with their team & after all their help & lovely service so far the decision has been made to be one of their wholesale suppliers from next year. Let me know if you would like any more details.
