I was quite overwhelmed by the response at the Festival. My talk was strictly 1hr to 40 people, the room was full I was nervous but I had everything set up & I was good to go. I decided just to chill about it in the end & let my passion take them through the journey of coffee. I was getting right into the swing of things, people were getting involved & asking questions. I asked how much time I had & was told I was 25minutes over!! So wrapped it up rather sharpish. The feed back was fantastic & many said they would like 2hrs next time. That was my first one at the festival & I feel like all my hard work & nerves paid off. I really hope to get involved again next year too. Thank you to Sue the organiser for all your help, also thank you to Eat Up Shrewsbury for the white chocolate brownies & Marcus Bean for the cranberry & dark chocolate flapjacks.
Opposite my stall was my customer Van Chaud in their HQVan. Sally & Mark are some of the nicest people you will ever meet & so supportive of me & my business! They use my Italian Blend & because they don’t over extract the dark roast of this coffee it is strong yet very smooth, the comments about Van Chaud & their coffee was just amazing, many said it was the best coffee they had ever had & all my italian blend sold out!
I also had coffee from my other customers Eat up outside the castle with their big orange dodge van (could not be missed) & The coffee cart company just through the castle gates on the left, both have their own blends of coffee and are fantastically unique in their own ways. I am so proud to supply them!
I came away from the festival buzzing not just because of the caffeine but from the lovely people I had met through the day & the interest they all had in my business & my coffee! After I do these talks & shows I realise how much I love what I do & it motivates me to push myself even further.
When talking about the brew methods in my workshop I figured that I don’t use my stove top as much as I should as it is not my preferred brew but I am going to give it a chance over the next week or so & let you know how it goes.
The week before the Ludlow food festival I moved my coffee suite from Bank Street to Whitburn street in Bridgnorth, it may sound like a small trip but believe me it took some sweat & tears, but I am over that hill now & have a second wind & ready for more!
